We begin Invisalign enquiries with a free consultation. We discuss possible treatment options and confirm whether the patient would benefit from Invisalign treatment. Having previously had a veneer fitted our patient was thrilled to discover that she was still an ideal candidate for Invisalign clear aligners. We recommended a tooth whitening treatment to complete the smile makeover, and we always advise wearing an Invisalign Vivera retainer to ensure the teeth do not creep back to their original position.
We carried out a digital scan using our state-of-the-art iTero Scanner, this is a quick and pain free procedure and less messy than impressions. The scanner produces images of our patients’ teeth from various angles, and we use these images to form a treatment plan – in this case, treatment would take 12 months. We were even able to show a 3D simulation of how her teeth would look at the end of the treatment.
The Invisalign aligners are custom made and as soon as they’re ready they are delivered to the practice. We fitted the patients’ first aligner face to face but going forward the aligners would be changed at home on a weekly basis. This is a simple process and of course is far more convenient for patients! Priory Dental Practice use the Dental Monitoring app. This handy app removes the need for frequent visits to the practice. We showed the patient how to scan their teeth, upload images and send them into the practice so that our orthodontic team can ensure that the treatment is going to plan.
At the end of the treatment our patients’ teeth had moved considerably and were now much straighter. We completed the whitening treatment, and we replaced her existing veneer which was matched to the colour of her other teeth. Our very happy patient was thrilled that we had achieved the desired position of her teeth, and the colour matching of her new veneer. We used the latest digital scanning techniques and equipment to complete this smile makeover.
